I am Aimee Taylor, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a registered midwife and nurse. I help families with breastfeeding, bottle feeding and combination feeding at home in Clapham, South West London. That covers SW4 and the nearby parts of SW8, SW9, SW11 and SW12.

I am based in Tooting, a short drive away. Clapham is in my core home-visit area, so there is no travel charge.

I have worked in the NHS since 2009. For the past nine years I have led the Sunflower team, a caseloading midwifery team caring for families across SW11, just the other side of Clapham Common. Caseloading means the same midwife through pregnancy, birth and the weeks after, and it has shown me how much it matters to see the same face, someone who already knows your story.

It also means I know the women, the roads and the community here really well. When I think about community midwifery, my fondest memories are of SW11. At a visit I look at how you are recovering as well as how feeding is going.

Breastfeeding help at home in Clapham

I can help with:

What happens at a home visit

The initial home consultation lasts two hours and costs £240. I take a detailed history of your pregnancy, birth and feeding so far, watch a feed, assess your baby's mouth and how they feed, and weigh your baby.

Afterwards you get a written feeding plan by email within 24 hours, a 15-minute follow-up call, and two weeks of WhatsApp support for questions as they come up. If you need a follow-up visit, it is 90 minutes and £180, booked within four weeks.

Families I have helped in Clapham

These are my Google reviews from families in Clapham.

I got in touch with Aimee after getting mastitis and struggling with the latch, positioning and milk supply after being unwell. She was amazing. She listened, was super kind and extremely knowledgeable.
Kim S, Clapham
Aimee is fantastic. With my 2nd I thought I knew what I was doing, but they’re all different and the latch just wasn’t right. She spotted it and supported the baby and me to correct it so quickly. Couldn’t have done without her!
Alice M, Clapham
Aimee is so knowledgeable, helpful and experienced, would definitely recommend her services to any family.
Lucy G, Clapham
Aimee was our midwife during two of my pregnancies and births. From the very beginning, she brought a sense of calm, warmth and confidence that made me feel completely safe and supported. The support she gave me with breastfeeding was invaluable — especially with our daughter, Matilda, who was diagnosed with a posterior tongue tie. Aimee always seemed to know exactly what advice was needed, and delivered it with such kindness that I never felt overwhelmed or judged. Aimee is one of those people who leaves a lasting impression on your life. We will always be grateful for the care, expertise and friendship she gave our family — I cannot recommend her highly enough to any parent looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and truly exceptional support.
Emma D, Clapham
Aimee is amazing. I couldn’t have hoped for a better midwife. She supported me through all three of my pregnancies, birth, breastfeeding and beyond. We were so lucky to have her and I’d recommend to everyone.

Your NHS care in Clapham

Clapham sits across two boroughs. Most of it is in Lambeth, and part of it, including more than half of Clapham Common, is in Wandsworth. Which side you live on decides your health visiting team.

On the Lambeth side, health visiting is run by Evelina London, part of Guy's and St Thomas'. Clapham has its own team at Clapham Manor Health Centre, 86 Clapham Manor Street, SW4 6EB, on 020 3049 5676. The Lambeth health visiting advice line is 020 3049 5300, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

On the Wandsworth side, health visiting is run by Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH), on their duty line 0330 058 1679.

For maternity care, King's College Hospital lists SW4 in its catchment, and many Lambeth families have their babies at St Thomas'. On the Wandsworth side, St George's community midwives cover the streets up to Clapham Common.

Wherever you had your baby, your midwife and health visitor carry on looking after you. A visit from me sits alongside that care, and if something needs your GP, midwife or health visitor, I will tell you and help you arrange it.

Mostly Lambeth, with part in Wandsworth, and that decides your health visiting team. It makes no difference to a visit from me. More on your NHS care in Clapham.

Can you check for tongue tie at a home visit?

Yes. I look at how your baby's tongue moves and how they feed. If a tongue tie is restricting feeding, I will explain the options and refer you to a specialist, and support your feeding either way. There is more in my guide to tongue tie.
